Scholarship for Nursing Administration Graduate Students
The Sara Tatem Scholarship The Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives offers the Sara Tatem Scholarship to help defray costs of education. This scholarship honors Sara Tatem who was the driving force in creating the Virginia Society for Nursing Service Administrators which later became the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives. Instructions The scholarship applicants must be enrolled as full-time or part-time students in an NLN approved program in nursing at the Masters, DNS or PhD level in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a major and/or doing research in Nursing Administration or in a health related field, NLN-approved program combined with an MBA or MHA, or an MBA or MHA program. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to seek employment as a nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia for two years immediately following program/research completion. Any scholarship recipient failing to graduate from the program due to academic failure, expulsion, voluntary or involuntary withdrawal or a change in major subject of study is expected to repay the full amount of the scholarship (interest free within six months from the time of withdrawal). Application 1.A letter to the VONE Scholarship Committee . It should reflect why the individual is applying for this scholarship, nursing management experience, and professional intent upon completion of the degree or research. 2.A copy of the applicant’s Virginia nurses license. CONTRACT SARA TATEM SCHOLARSHIP I, _____________________________________(full name), having made application for the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives Scholarship, am aware of and agree to the following terms: 1. I currently meet the minimum requirements as indicated in this brochure. 2. If I fail to graduate from the program in which I am enrolled due to academic failure, expulsion, voluntary or involuntary withdrawal, or a change in major subject of study, I will repay the full amount of the scholarship (interest free) within six months from the time of withdrawal.
